Kristina Riegle
Kristina Riegle is a theatre and opera performer, and has been recognized as "an exciting and engaging actor and singer". Her theatrical career includes appearances in A Little Night Music, South Pacific, A Christmas Carol, Julius Caesar, Ragtime, Children of Eden, Candide, My Fair Lady, and many others. Some of Kristina’s favorite opera roles performed include Ruggiero (Alcina), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro), Dorothée (Cendrillon), and Jo March (Little Women). She has performed with The Kennedy Center, Washington National Opera, Meadow Brook Theatre, Resonance Works, The Encore Musical Theatre Company, St. Petersburg Opera, Detroit Opera/Michigan Opera Theatre, Flint Youth Theatre, Cape Cod Opera, Opera Providence, Fiddlehead Theatre Company, Boston Opera Collaborative, Reagle Musical Theatre, and Opera Boston.
Developing new work is a passion for Kristina. She has performed in numerous World Premieres including The Fall of the House of Usher by Molly Fox and Sarah Hirsch, A Fire in Water by Michael Oberhauser and Terry Johns, Christopher Theofanidis’ Virtue, and Soul Fight by Catherine O'Neill. She has collaborated in development workshops with such writers as Laurence O’Keefe, Nell Benjamin, Richard Evans, Charles Leipart, Meron Langsner, Silvia Graziano, Dan Shore, and many others.
Kristina holds a Master of Music degree from The Boston Conservatory, Bachelor degrees in Music and Biology from the College of Charleston, and certificates from The Contemporary Commercial Music (CCM) Vocal Pedagogy Institute of Shenandoah University in functional pedagogy for commercial singing and Pop/Rock styles. She is the owner of Riegle Voice Studio LLC, a voice, acting, and piano studio in Birmingham, Michigan, and worldwide online. Kristina has taught at Wayne State University, Rochester University, and Next Step Broadway Michigan, and is a Standardized Patient with Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine where she helps medical students hone their communication skills and physical examination techniques.
Kristina is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association (AEA); American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA); and National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). She is also an activist, and belongs to Beyond Artists, a coalition of artists who donate a portion of their income to organizations bringing important issues to light. Kristina supports Michigan environmental/wildlife conservation and human service and rights organizations such as Michigan Animal Rescue League (MARL), Michigan Humane Society, and Neighborhood House through her performances.
